I co-directed and taught in the First WHO infodemic manager training, including 250+ public health professionals globally. The training delivery used human-centered design and flipped classroom approaches and was highly interactive, combining lectures with group work and 3 week immersive simulation exercise.
It covered:
- challenges of misinformation and information ecosystem to public health
- lessons learned on health misinformation, trust building, and working with vulnerable populations (from NCDs, HIV, tobacco, vaccien preventable diseases, outbreak response)
- latest from misinformation studies from fields other than public health
- practices from journalism and fact-checking
Read about the curriculum in First WHO infodemic manager training booklet. The recordings of the lectures are also available.
