At the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting 2023, Boston: How misinformation impacts children’s health

  • Year: 2023

Health care providers are across the board and most consistently reported as most trusted sources of health information to their patients and in communities. So discussions about how to tackle health misinformation in child health at the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting 2023 are important to understand the challenges and opportunities to address them.

I gave a talk on how misinformation impacts child health on a panel at the PAS 2023 meeting. Rishi Mediratta designed and set the scene for the panel, and moderated speakers with Suzinne Pak-GorsteinAarti KumarSaad Omer and myself.

Here’s the summary of my talk from my LinkedIn blog. Key topics covered;

  • Mis- and disinformation is a growing risk to children’s health

  • Challenges and opportunities in addressing health misinformation affecting children

  • How can a pediatrician help address the infodemic?
