I codesigned and co-led the First WHO infodemiology conference.
The public pre-conference was attended by over 30000 people, bringing public health, policymaker, academic, civil society and private sector perspectives to the table of state of research and evidence in relation to infodemics and public health. The working scientific conference was designed in human-centered approach to rapidly synthesize evidence and tools from across scientific fields as diverse as physics, data science, ethics, political science, psychology, communications, and epidemiology.
The conference brought together over 120 scientists and public health practitioners producing public health research agenda for managing infodemics. The outcomes were first reported in a post-conference event (here’s a recording), and in the Public health research agenda for managing infodemics.
